Community Conservation

SNSF has been engaged in this vertical for more than 15 years. Partnering with NABARD for more than ten years, the Foundation facilitated micro credit to more than 850 self-help groups and nurtured more than 3140 rural women-led enterprises.

Community conservation improves the economic conditions of marginalised and underprivileged communities in rural or stressed geographies, around ANAND facilities. SNSF works in the following areas: women’s empowerment, enhanced farm incomes, drinking water access, livestock health and environment greening.

At SNSF, rural livelihood programmes have been driven through women self-help groups (SHGs) in Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, arising out of long-standing partnerships with central and state Government bodies (NABARD and DRDA). The footprint comprises the mountainous terrains of Himachal Pradesh (Parwanoo, District Solan), wildlife habitats of Rajasthan (villages in Districts of Pali, Jaisalmer and Sawai Madhopur), tribal tracts of Maharashtra (rural blocks of Trimbakeshwar and Peth, District Nashik) and rural households of Madhya Pradesh (Sonkutch, and Tonk, District Dewas).

This vertical of SNSF will gain priority, as holistic development of rural communities will soon take centre stage within the organisation.

Our focus areas are:
1. Empowerment of women
2. Augmentation of farm income
3. Access to potable drinking water
4. Health of livestock
5. Creating and maintaining green environment
