Youth Skilling programme in Rewari
Rekha Devi, a 35-year-old woman, completed her 10th-grade education from a government school in Bawal. After a five-year marriage ended in divorce, she returned to her parents‘ home with her daughter. Initially she supported her father in farming activities.
In March 2021, through a peer referral she joined Assistant Beauty Therapist course at SNSF. Post completion of the course in June 2021, she secured a job in a parlour, leveraging her newfound expertise.
Rekha’s determination and hard work enabled her to save enough money to start her own parlour, named Nikks Makeup Studio, located in Katla Bazar, Bawal. Despite initial challenges in setting up her parlour, Rekha’s business flourished, and she now earns up to 2.5 lakhs per month. It increased her family monthly income from ₹ 15K to ₹ 250K (1667%).
This success allowed her to provide her daughter with good education in a private school and offer employment opportunities to nine other women, who received training at SNSF JIVICA Kendra.
Rekha is grateful for the support and guidance she received from SNS Foundation, which played a significant role in transforming her life positively. Through perseverance and determination, Rekha’s journey indeed serves as a powerful testament to the transformative impact of skill development and entrepreneurship in empowering individuals to overcome adversity and achieve success.
