Micro-Entrepreneurship @ Village Wasunde (Kurkumbh, Pune)

  • Gauri is an active member of the Tulajabhavani Self Help Group (SHG) formed by SNSF in December 2022 at Village Wasunde.
  • There are 7 members in her family. Her husband works as a labourer in Kurkumbh MIDC, earning ₹ 10K per month.
  • Earlier Gauri earned ₹ 800-1000 per month from doing tailoring at home. However, her life took a positive turn when she acquired skills in Aari work (a type of embroidery) in a training facilitated by SNSF in collaboration with Yuva Parivartan.
  • Secondly, she also took a loan of ₹ 20K from her SHG and started her own shop, offering a range of services: tailoring, selling cosmetics, stationery, clothing, and Aari work.
  • Now, Gauri’s monthly family income has increased from ₹ 10K to 14K (40%).
