Prakash Kumar, son of Dhana Ram and Shanti Devi, successfully cleared the NMMS exam in July 2024 while studying in Class 8 at MKD Middle School.
He has now enrolled at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Bisalpur for the academic year 2024-25, marking a significant step in his educational journey.
Prakash’s family, residing in a remote village in a pucca house, has a combined monthly income of ₹16K with his two elder brothers working as a carpenter and a laborer, and his father and sisters-in-law are involved in farming.
SNSF teacher Heer Singh played a crucial role in Prakash’s success, providing guidance in science and mathematics from Class 6 to 8 and offering special coaching for the NMMS entrance exam.
Prakash will benefit from a central government scholarship of ₹12K annually. Reflecting on his journey, he said, “Scholarship mujhe aur acche se padne ke liye motivate karega aur yah paise se main reference books kharidunga and family ko help karunga.”
