Martha, a 55-year-old illiterate farmer from Village Meeno Ki Dhani in Bisalpur Panchayat, has greatly benefited from the MMU services.
Martha and her husband, three daughters, and two sons, manage their livelihood through farming on 7 bighas of land and doing private jobs
Prior to the intervention of the MMU, Martha faced significant challenges accessing healthcare. She had to travel 3-4 km to the Bisalpur Primary Healthcare Center (PHC) for check-ups and incurred around ₹500 in medical expenses each month.
The village’s inadequate infrastructure, including poor transport facilities, made immediate medical care difficult, often requiring villagers to hire vehicles for emergencies. Struggling with joint pain, Martha first accessed MMU services on June 28th , with follow-up visits on July 2nd and July 16th.
She receives free consultations and medicines, leading to noticeable improvements in her condition. The MMU has not only alleviated her pain but also enabled her to save the ₹500 she previously spent on healthcare, reducing additional costs and easing the financial burden on her family. Martha shared, “I no longer have to worry about the long journey and the costs of visiting the PHC. My pain has improved, and I’m saving money that we can now use for other needs.”
