Yashika, a 6-year-old student from Village Chandairee, is currently in 1st grade. Her family consists of four members: herself, her younger brother studying in a nominal private school, her housewife mother and daily wager father working with a contractor. The family’s monthly income is ₹8K, and they live in a single-room pucca house.
Yashika initially struggled in her UKG class, scoring 55% in her first-term exams. However, with extra coaching and support from SNS Foundation teachers, she demonstrated significant improvement, achieving 87% in her second-term exams—a remarkable increase of 32%.
Due to her parents’ limited education—her mother is illiterate and her father cannot read English—Yashika faced challenges with her English-language homework. SNS Foundation provided essential guidance to her parents on how to assist Yashika with her studies and also offered special coaching after school hours.
Despite the academic challenges, Yashika actively participated in various extra-curricular activities, showcasing her well-rounded development.
The support from SNS Foundation was crucial in overcoming the language barrier at home. Yashika’s father expressed his gratitude, saying, “SNS Foundation ke madad se, main ab apni beti ko ghar par homework aur padhai mein madad karane mein saksham hoon aur Yashika ki padhai me kami improvement huwi hai.”
Yashika not only improved her academic performance but also gained confidence in her abilities, reflecting the positive impact of the foundation’s efforts on her educational journey.
