Diksha Katagi, from the SNSF partner Government Higher Primary School in Muttagi, hails from a farming family. Her father manages 2 acres of land and works as an LIC agent, while her mother assists in the fields. She has an elder sister and 02 younger siblings.
In 5th grade, Diksha received competitive exam coaching from an SNSF teacher. Out of 10 students, she was selected for the Adarsha English Medium School in Dastikoppa where she received free education till 10th standard.
This selection was crucial, as without it, Diksha would have needed to travel to a distant village or Dharwad for further education. Despite her parents’ commitment to her education, their financial situation was challenging due to the need to educate four children.
Diksha excelled in her studies, achieving 95% in her 10th grade exams and securing the 2nd rank in her school. Her performance earned her a scholarship from Smt. Vidya Hanchinmani College in Dharwad, which provided free admission and ₹70K fee concession each year for her 11th and 12th standard.
Diksha aspires to become a doctor to support her family and help her younger siblings with their education. She said, “The opportunities and support I received have fueled my dreams and strengthened my resolve to make a positive impact for my family.”
Diksha has scored 629 rank in NEET examination 2024.
Inspired by Diksha’s success, her younger sister also received SNSF coaching and was admitted to the same school. She is now in 10th grade, while her younger brother is in 7th grade at Adarsha English Medium School in Dastikoppa.
